1400hp Mustang Cobra Jet

All-electric means not a drop of fuel whatsoever. Instead, there is an electric motor. The one-off prototype that Ford claims to be faster than the current Cobra Jet is electric. It is projected to reach more than 170mph in the quarter mile, packed with 1400hp and over 1,100lb-ft of instant torque.

Ford Performance continues to test the Cobra Jet 1400, before it is seen at drag racing events hopefully later this year, where the public will get to see it in action.

The thing is though, when you watch jet powered dragsters fly down the drag strip, there are two things that get your heart pumping, flames from the exhaust and noise, a load of noise. With this ‘all-electric’ Mustang Cobra Jet, you won’t see or hear any of that, which is a bit of a let-down.
