Here is Aston Martins mid-engine hypercar, called the Valkyrie. The hybrid machine is developed by Cosworth, kicking out 1000bhp and 546lb-ft from a 6.5-litre V12 which can rev to 10,500rpm.

There’s an electric motor which sits between the engine and a single-clutch automated gearbox, which is designed by Ricardo and developed by Rimac and Integral Powertrain, kicking out an extra 160bhp and 207lb-ft. Peak power outputs are 1160bhp at 10,500rpm and 664lb-ft at 6000rpm.

The engine uses port fuel injection instead of direct fuel injection, allowing it to meet emissions standards without using a GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter). The engine weighs just 204kg and will last up to 62,000miles with regular maintenance. Up to 1,816kg of downforce is generated at top speed, helping it lap the Silverstone Circuit as fast as an F1, according to Andy Palmer.

The braking will be handled by Alcon and Surface Transforms, as the Valkyrie will get some big brakes and carbon-ceramic discs. While Bosch will supply the engine control unit, traction control unit and electronic stability control system. The Valkyrie will come with either 20-inch or 21-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s tyres. Wipac, a British LED lighting manufacturer, has developed the car’s headlights and tail lights.

The Valkyrie, which is co-developed by Red Bull Advanced Technologies, will cost between £2 million to £3 million. The ARM Pro version arrives later in 2020.
