Talk about weight reduction...
2020 Ford GT gets exposed liquid carbon fibre body panels and an additional 13bhp, making 660bhp – opposed to 647bhp from the current model.
It gets larger intercoolers, higher energy ignition coils, a new type of gallery-cooled piston design and a new body design at the rear to increase airflow by 50%. The suspension has also been modified in Track Mode to enhance the body control. Not only that, but it also gets carbon fibre wheels and a titanium exhaust system from Slovenian firm Akrapovic, which weigh 4kg lighter. Optional extras include titanium wheel bolts, six-point racing seatbelts and racing stripes.
This GT is now available to order in the US, but a Ford spokesperson said there are no plans to bring it to the UK – that’s a pity. Production of the model will end in 2022.
