The company which set a Guinness World Record are back, with more power
From the same company who made the Ultimate Aero back in 2007, which was the world’s fastest production car and set a Guinness World Record, reaching a top speed of just over 256mph averaged over two runs in opposite directions and produced 1,287bhp. Well I’m pleased to tell you, they’re back.
SSC (Shelby Supercars) has come back with a hypercar called Tuatara, which is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.9-litre flat-plane-crank V8. We’re talking 1,750hp through a robitized CIMA seven-speed transmission, which can shift in less than 100 milliseconds. The company believes the Tuatara can reach 300mph.
Only 100 units will be made. Pricing information hasn’t been released yet, but it’s expecting to be £1.5 million, at least.
