The Huracan RWD Spyder uses the same power from the 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 found in the hard-top Huracan. Kicking out 602bhp, 29bhp less than the four-wheel-drive Huracan Evo. It has 413lb-ft, and all the power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Of course, as you’d expect, it will be heavier, 120kg heavier than the Coupe due to the roof mechanism, but it still achieves a 0-62mph time is 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 202mph.
The RWD Spyder has a power-to-weight ratio of 399bhp per tonne and a weight distribution of 40/60 front to rear, thanks to lightweight materials such as aluminium, carbon-fibre and thermoplastic.
The RWD Spyder is equipped with the P-TCS (Performance-Traction Control System), which is calibrated especially for consistent torque delivery and hardcore traction. The three driving modes found in most of their cars are available in the new Spyder, ‘Strada’ which is for the streets, ‘Sport’ for when you want to have some fun on the streets, and most importantly, ‘Corsa’ for track driving.
From factory, the RWD Spyder gets 19-inch Kari wheels with cross-drilled steel brake discs, although customers can upgrade to carbon-ceramic discs and 20-inch wheels.
As for the interior, the infotainment and driver assistance functions are controlled via an 8.4-inch touchscreen mounted in the centre console. Prices for the new RWD Spyder start at £188,800, with deliveries expected to start this summer.
