Packing out power from the Gazoo Racing World Rally Team
Toyota has revealed the 2020 GR Yaris, kicking out 257bhp to all four wheels from a 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
Weighing 1,280kg with a unique suspension set up, pushing out 266lb-ft. Toyota say it will give the UK market a 0-62mph time in less than 5.5 seconds and a limited top speed of 143mph. All that power will be sent through a six-speed manual gearbox and features two limited-slip differentials.
The driver can manually adjust the GR Yaris’s torque split. There are three driving modes, in Normal mode the GR Yaris sends 60 percent of the engine’s power to the front wheels and 40 percent to the rear. Sport mode shifts the ratio to 30/70, while Track mode locks the two axles together in a 50/50 split.
Only a three-door body style will be produced – yay. The new GR Yaris is expected to be in the showrooms before the end of 2020, with pricing starting at £29,995. Count me in.
