There are now 40.4 million vehicles registered in the UK. Roughly 35 million are cars, while the remaining 5 million are lorries, buses, trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
But due to the coronavirus outbreak, traffic on the UK roads plunged as much as 73% in the middle of April, which is a level not seen since 1955. It’s not only affected cars and vans, but bus numbers have fallen by 60%. HGV lorries has declined by 40% too, with essential deliveries still being transported.
As much as we all want the virus to go away and normality to be back, it’s so peaceful with less vehicles on our roads, isn’t it?
